Izzy is a petite pinscher, who is just under a year old. She has a sweet disposition and especially loves being with other dogs. She is food-motivated, kennels on command, and already has good recall. She loves to run in the yard and is still working on how to walk on a leash.

Izzy came to us with from a rural Louisiana shelter severely underweight and with a limp. After being evaluated we found that Izzy has a healed broken pelvis. That doesn't slow her down though - she runs and plays with the big dogs just fine. She will need some at-home physical therapy to strengthen her leg muscle again, but she is in no pain and should have no lasting damage.

 

Izzy would love a home with at least one other dog and backyard for her to run, and someone committed to working on her physical therapy to strengthen her back leg.

As a purely foster based rescue we have no central location at which you can visit our dogs, consequently we only honor meeting requests from preapproved adopters.  Please fill in our online application at www.myaarf.org as fully as you can.  It won't obligate you to anything or any particular dog but gives us a great place from which to begin the matching process.  Please allow 24-48 hours for a response from our busy volunteers. Adoption Fee is $ which includes all transport, vetting (including spay/neuter) and microchipping.
